Well I finally did it! I assembled an M1 with out regards to who made the parts. I used a 44 SA receiver a 51 dated barrel a Winchester trigger housing a Danish stock and sling a butt plate off a Korean stock and a National Match op rod the rear sight is a lockbar of questionable parentage the rest of the parts I think are SA but did not check. The rifle shoots great and I have no complaints about it's accuracy. Pics of Frankengarand will be posted as soon as possible. I lived up to my name on this build. When I was asked as to its pedigree I informed them that this is a warrior and forget the correctness! This is an M1 Garand that I was sure saw service in some theater.(or some of the parts did anyway)

Mix, so you're finally living up to your name. I've always thought the ability to incorporate parts from any USGI manufacturer into a rifle and it work perfectly was the strength of the M1 Garand. I guess we should mention PB parts also as I've never had a problem fitting or working well either. Congrats on the build sound nice can't wait to see pictures of the little bastard.

does the certificate make it worth more? most of the ones I have seen at gun shows are priced to high, maybe it is because they have a little piece of paper that says that the rifle came from the CMP.

I only have one M1 that is correct, the rest are mixmasters.

I thought CMP rifles were HRA's with SA bolts and SA's with HRA bolts.
