    Ruger SR1911

Any body have any thoughts on the new Ruger entry into the 1911 world?

I am a fan of Ruger and will most likely get one when they come out with a non-stainless finish. At least I will get one assuming the reviews are good and I don't get the hell beat out of me on this board for considering one. A gun store in Texas got one in and it sold for $605.

Also, what type finish did the WWII 1911s have?

From what i hear, its built to series 70 specs at that price who could beat it. I would like to check out a blued model as well. WW2 models of the 1911 were parkerized.
    Cheers

Here is a pretty good vid of the new Ruger in action

Looks pretty good to me. Specially the price! Ruger makes a fine gun that will with stand anything. I'll be looking for one.
