    thoughts on this poss trade? seeking guidence from the garand gods

    i have a like new s&w model 27-2 in 3.5in 357mag value is 800-1000.00 i have 650.00 in the gun, the rifle a guy wants to trade me for is a 1942 oct 6 digit springfield m1 garand s/n ending in 911 kinda cool has orig dated 42 barrel great rifliling nice walnut stock with 42 dated boyt leather military sling

    forgot also has type 2 lock bars on it.... op rod number and trigger group are from a 45 rifle but easy to make correct

    I'd say do it, mainly because i once traded away an SA six-digit before I knew beans about Garands. I'd bet a six digit is a lot less common than your Smith.

    thinking the same, with this being a date correct reciever, barrel thats also in great shape, and dated boyt sling with correct type 2 lockbars? waiting on the prince or tim to chime in on this deal

    If good barrel and its a rifle you want its a good trade especially since you only have $650.00 in it

    As long as the barrel specs are good,I'd say that would be worth $650.If You were trying for a higher value,I'd ask if op rod were modified,gas cyl pad chromed?,or if the stock were USGI?Looks like a nice rifle.
