    New to Battle Tested

Hello. I wanted my first post, on Memorial weekend, to include a photo of my dad.
Here he is with his Garand while stationed in Japan. He served in Japan and in Korea on the DMZ on a mortar crew.
I miss him. He's the reason I'm into war movies, John Wayne, M1 Carbines, and of course, M1 Garands.
I have one of the Garands he worked on a Feb. '43 S.A.
I'd like to continue to gather correct parts and eventually get Tim to parkerize it.
Thanks for allowing me to share...
    Danny

Don't worry if plan "A" fails, there are still 25 other letters in the alphabet.

    Thank you cuppednlocked!
I have more. I'll dig them out. There's one with him in barracks...M1 and pinup over his head!
    Great picture.
He gave me his cap and bayonet he used overseas before he passed away.
    Wouldn't take for them!

Nope, They constantly flew around my area. Their training flights had them dodging through the valleys and over the mountains.
They flew out of the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Willow Grove, Pa The airfield closed sometime last year.

Interesting! The Warthog was my dads favorite war plane in Desert Storm.

Thanks Orlando. I've looked at a lot of threads! Good stuff here!
I really like the looks of the Mini-G!
I mailed my membership to M1Collectors Cub. I'd sure like to have Tim build one for me!
