Some folks don't like them, but I kinda like rack numbers! They give an old military gun some character IMHO. Not something I like on a new,refinished or collector type gun, but for a basic used shooter or old battle axe with wear I have no problem with them. I have an old EMcF that has an RIA stamp right on top of the EMcF, several proof P's, an RR stamp on the bottom and a painted rack number on the butt. I'm thinking of putting it on a WRA shooter I'm building up with all 1940's parts.
