M1D and Shuff is a perfect match made

    Here are the specs

Rack grade M1 SA 1957 receiver

    Shuff's Parkerizing did the following:
Milled the barrel for the block
Fit barrel block, reamed to headspace
    parkerized all except stock metal
replaced gas cylinder and op-rod piston
    replace follower
    test shot to perfection

(thanks Tim you did a beautiful job)

    Criterion Match grade 30-06 barrel
    All new springs
    New stock metal
    M14 butt plate
New CMP Walnut stock, fitted, barrel and op-rod free floated, national match spec'd glass bedding
T-37 Flash hider (no bullet smacks good to go)
    Cheek Pad
    1907 Leather Sling
Lyman Alaskan 2 1/2 x scope with R.A. Litschert Alaskan 8x Varmint Master Booster
UTG Bi-pod (at 14 lbs fully loaded I needed the extra help)
Scope rings (first was definitely cheap Chinese second I got from AIM Surplus for the Gibbs M1D's I would assume (fits perfect))
Several cases of M72 Match both FA and LC 174gr FMJBT

    How much total? (don't ask)
Was it worth it? (Waited 20 plus years to build her (YES every shiny new penny))
    How does she shoot?

I have to get my skills honed back to where they were in the Army. But I can say that with scope I had several sub-MOA 2 and three in a dime at 100 yards (couldn't believe it myself). Need new glasses with iron sights (can't focus on front sight) had 3 MOA at 100 yards. But then again I think that is why I went the scoped route to begin with.

Thank you all, But Tim did the most important work, again thank you Tim you did a wonderful job. A true craftsman.

The only thing I missed this go around was a BAR mag conversion. But my next one if I can wring the money out will be a m14 mag mini-g with a m1d setup. But only use the 2 1/2 power scope for close quarters and possible 3 gun. Small, heavy hitting irons and scope with 20 rounds to boot I think that would be cool.

Brink352, if you want one get it done I can share the details of all the work if you like. it was a fun project and the fact that she shoots better than any single M1D or M1C ever built by the Army beats having a "REAL" one any day.

Oh and another thought I actually like shooting with the side mounted scope it is more comfortable to shoot IMO

When I get the scope zeroed in better and improve my skills (10 ring and under) I will post some pics of the targets and maybe some in action
