    Chrome lined barrel vs non

    Which do you prefer, chrome lined barrel vs non, Fulton armored has both for the Garand and say it don't affect tolerances like others. thoughts

    You can't finish ream a chrome barrel so the headspace is what it is. You have to start swapping out bolts and try to get lucky. Non-chrome is more accurate, but chrome cleans easier so given the choice I would go non-chrome. Also, M14 NM Sak barrels were not chrome lined and are considered the best.

    I don't like lapping bolts/receivers, either should you ou719. I will always go non chrome lined.

    That is probably me. I think I list barrels for $175, when they're in stock.

    If Tim doesn't have them,the CMP e-store sells Criterion's at $179 ish,but You'll have to want quite a while.

    I got two Criterion full length .308 barrels from Dean's Restorations for $186 plus s/h. Unfortunately, I just checked his website and he is out of stock again. Watch his website, he will usually post an availability date a week or two before he actually receives them from factory.
