I'm getting there. Tony G found me a beautiful 03-A3 (muzzle 0, throat 1) that was drilled and tapped for a Redfield Jr. and had a beautifully done bent bolt, but the handle was highly polished. Tim media blasted the bolt and then blackened-not parked-it. Next the scope was a freebie from Dogboysdad (Eric). Tim machined the WWII style step and the bevel in the Redfield Post-War scope base and parked it. The "C" stock came from the Louisville roadtrip. The upper handguard is raw wood. I'm not so sure it's walnut so I ordered a new one from the Collectors Source, but it's not here yet. I should have sanded it-maybe it is walnut? Anyway, here is where I'm at so far.
The Allen head screws are in the base temporarily until I get the shimming right-then they'll be replaced with Fillister's. The flash brings out the "Patina" but in regular light the receiver is a nice green, and the scope base and rings are darker. Everything is Remington, with the exception-I think-of the striker.
