Have you got any factual numbers to post to prove this, or is it just personal opinion?

The way I see it, if there were ever to be any sort of civil conflict in our country between "north" and "south" again, a large portion of the "south" workforce would flee back to Mexico or the Dominican Republic or wherever they came from.

And as far as the number of parasites goes, it's kinda of laughable really. Perhaps you've never been to Atlanta or Houston or Birmingham, etc ad infinitum.

I live in Houston - I'm a native! Yes, there are a lot of parasites here, but we don't have places like Chicago or (shudder) Detroit.
150 years ago, the South was almost entirely agricultural with nearly no industrial base. Today, industry abounds here, while what little is left in the North is dying.
