I believe the seller is trying to get his out ahead of the CMP's IHC which will definitely lower market value for a while. $3k though? Maybe if it had a IHC stock I could see someone paying that for it, but it does not so y thought would be about half his asking price.

Its a nice rifle and he is open to offers and has been a good guy to deal with. As he states make an offer, Needless to say that place is getting bad to sell and good guy ( the guys selling a junk 400 dollar ihc stock) has the balls to call him out.

I made a offer waaaaaaay under what he wants. My offer wont stand a chance but I took a shot at it.
Not that I have the $$$ for it. If he bites I'll have to run a couple Garands to my local FFL to raise the $$$$. He will take all I send him

good price for seller would be $2500. Good price as buyer would be $2000.

It's a really nice rifle.

assume CMP will be selling SG mixmasters in the $1000-1100 range. You're going to spend at least another $600-1200 on IHC parts to correct it up and in the end you won't have a nice, uniform finish like Nate's.
