    Opinion on Dan Wesson

Any thoughts on an early Dan Wesson PM1 S (sn MJ43XX)? I am looking at one local but it is at full price, IMHO.

Dan Wesson 1911's ? Love them. They arent just another cookie cutter 1911
Never handled the PM1 but had the CBOB and my everyday carry is the CCO

It is a solid gun and as you have not stated a price I can not form an opinion as to value, but that varies from state to state anyway

Asking is $690 but I think I can get some off that, not sure how much though, hoping for -$620. This part of NY is bad for overpriced used guns. The gun is at about 95%, shows little signs of use and of course tight.

My main concern is the varied opinions of the pre CZ Pointman Majors, seem to be hit and miss and I have read the year is key ? . Most info I have found on serial numbers is that the first digit is the year made so if correct this would be 2004. Either way it is still a cast frame though.

Very nice, the CBOB has crossed my mind.

Are you looking for a carry conceal piece or a range pistol? I carried the CBOB and it can be done but the CCO carries much ,much easier.

Is the Pointman you are looking at 9mm or 45acp ?

Was looking for a range gun in this one. That's why I was considering the used PM1. The CBOB had crosssed my mind but when it comes down to it, more money for ammo is not a bad thing. The Pointman is a .45 stainless.

I think the CBOB is discontinued, mine was in 45acp but was also available in 10mm. I sold mine for $50.00 more than I paid for it new as guys were wanting them bad since no longer available
Not a 1911 but honestly my favorite range pistol is the Beretta M9. It is the easiest pistol to shoot, very accurate, probably because its 9mm and a heavy handgun. You should be able to find one new for $600.00 out the door.

Got a few 9mm's and they do not get shot much. I did carry a Beretta for many years, AD, and yes a good shooting gun. Even more fun with a CT laser grip, if you like that kind of thing.
