The West will lodge all kinds of protests, and boycott international meetings, ect. Bottom line is nobody is going to send troops to fight Russia troops head on as they won't want to risk a larger confrontation, and Europe buys too much Natural Gas from Russia to put any sanctions on them that will persuade them to back down.
My prediction is they will come to a 'diplomatic' solution Neville Chamberlain style allowing Russia to keep Crimea as long as they promise to be good and not go into the rest of the Ukraine.. Then it will get interesting....
