    My trip to Bremerton,Wa

I just spent a few days visiting Bremerton, and was able to take pics of the Carriers sitting in the reserve fleet awaiting disposal. The one to the right is the ex USS Independence, along side the Kitty Hawk, and you can see a bit of the Ex Ranger in some.It was very interesting!!

    Ryan, picture 9 is outstanding.

I have mixed emotions when I see the old ships waiting for the end. On one hand I am sad to see the end of a life, on the other a beginning (if used in an artificial reef program).

I was there about 4 years ago, after taking an Alaskan cruise, with Princess lines. BH and I hopped the ferry and went across the bay..I had no idea there were tours of the base and to get as close as that to the demolition yards..We went to the submarine museum, and toured it..I could see a bunch of decommissioned subs in the water by a few of the larger ships. When we returned i went to google earth and looked at the sat. photos..It even listed some of the names of the ships and subs, on others i had to look up the numbers..It sure rains a lot in Seattle, Wa, and in Alaska coastal towns... Og.
