    Nice. Anyone who thinks the op rod hump sends the extracted case on its forward flight path should watch this vid.

    Yes it does on occasion, but it not the op rod that sends the brass on its forward flight. It is bolt speed (i.e. op rod spring tension) and ejector/extractor spring tension that sends the brass flying.

    It's ejector and extractor spring strength. It's simple physics. If the op rod was responsible for the forward flight path, then explain the ones that you read about that land at 3 and 4:00 consistently. Out of my 4 M1's, I have one that doesn't get the brass wash at all--EVER. Explain away that one, and yes, they land at 1-2:00 and the last one at 3:00 as it should be.
