    243 or 270 Mini-G?

    Tim,

Have you done and Mini-Gs in 243 or 270? I know finding a Garand Barrels in these Calibers can be tricky, but is it a possibility if I can find a Garand barrel? I'm looking to build a Mini-G for my son to shoot, and something with less recoil might be the ticket. Of course 308 is the fall back.

    Thanks
    Justin

I have the reamer for the .270. I have nothing for the .243. Good luck finding a barrel.

Stumbled across this website a while back listing .270 garand barrels. Thought it was very odd and have never even heard of the company. Buyer beware.

Why not handload a mild round and stick with 3006?

That's an option, It's a box of parts now so I need to buy a barrel anyways. I'd probably go with 308 in that case. A little lighter, and Milsurp should be available longer.

I'm not sure how light you can load those and function the action, I do have some .308" Hornady 125gr SSTs....
