    Huffington Post VS CMP

This is the first Huffington Puffington post article I have read, I really like the way the Army talks about the CMP and how they don't think this is a good idea.

The CMP does NOT "sell guns over the internet." They do sell them in violation of the very federal law that the rest of us must follow. Government should NEVER allow itself or a special interest to violate the laws it creates.

No mention of buyers go thru NICS check or anything... every CMP rifle I've bought has required a NICS check.

they do, but as Tim said, they are still shipped to you in violation of federal law. Imagine how much more business real gun companies would have if they could ship direct to the door

It does absolutely provide an advantage in the Garand, Carbine and C&R rifle market.

And... the CMP has no FFL. No ATF agent to inspect your books, make sure every rifle is in and out of those books per federal rules. I'm sure every FFL would enjoy not having to comply with federal FFL licensing requirements, I would enjoy that. I wonder if the ATF even confirm that the CMP does a NICS check?
