    223 Chambering

I'm looking at getting an A2 or A4 for match shooting. I understand the difference between standard 223, 5.56 and 223 Wylde but what is the compass Lake special chambering?
    Thanks
    Jon

Hey Jon.. Here is a link to the chamber specs for all the popular .223 chambers:

It looks like the CLE chamber is a bit tighter than the Wylde. Also, the CLE chamber looks identical to the 5.56 NATO chamber with more freebore. Extra freebore is necessary for the longer bullets used at the 600 yard line.

I can't believe I'm writing this. And Bill, don't worry about backsliding. The M1's and 03A3 are not in any danger of being replaced or relegated to the back of the safe never to see the light of day again. I'm looking to compliment them, not replace them.

I'm no fan of the Mall Ninja AR15's with all the bells and whistles.
One of my favorite rifles is my Armalite AR bench rifle, shes a tackdriver. I havent ever reached beyond 300yds as thats the furthest I can go at my range
