    Not a Garand...but....

I went to the gun show here in Raleigh yesterday with the specific mission of selling off more stuff in my collection that I don't shoot anymore. I took a couple Garands and a Springfield XDS. I shouldn't have even bought a ticket to get in, all sold fast and nearly for what I was asking.

So I had a ticket and a pocket full of cash. Into the show I went.

    Ended up with this:

I've been a Sig fan for a while. I loaned (gave) my 229 to my brother a while ago and figured it's not coming back so that was all the excuse I needed.

Sigs are real nice handguns. I had a surplus German Police Sig 9mm a few years back.

The only plastic there is in the grip panels!

    Nice pick up!

Was it a hassle with the "new" rules about which gate you had to drive through, etc?

It's not a hassle at all. I use it to my advantage. The separate line for people entering with firearms is usually walk right thru, no waiting, no lines. Also it's right by the smokers area outside where many purchasers stand around. So I'll usually bring something to carry around just to get in the short line.

Smart! If you don't mind me asking, what are Garands going for at the show?

I had no problems selling off a rack HRA (all original though) for $750. I got $1600 a year or so ago for a rack Winny that was a complete POS and not even correct. I think much of it may be to attitude. When I walk in with a gun most of the time I really am not there to sell it. When I am there to move something I'll stand near some tables that specialize in what I'm selling to get the run-off of their customers. Kinda a dick move from the dealers POV but I paid to get in too.

Always so no to the first offer (unless it's the price you are asking) and sometimes the second.

The Sig pistol shoots awesomely! I may have to get another to shoot from my other hand.
