    Spanish mauser

    What are thoughts on this one? It has been modified to 308 . Its not a bad looking rifle are they safe to shoot? I took a pic of the import stamp if that helps , Samco Miami Fl 308W . Thanks

    I wanted one for a while, when they were cheap. Unfortunately, Samco went broke a while back... There's an article where they discuss these, M1916 in 7.62 - they're small-ring Mausers and about at their limits in 7.62.

    HAve watched several videos on these. Most people shooting .308. One guy is shooting the Tula .308 because he says that particular round is loaded
    at a lower level to even some 7.62Nato. If you haven;t purchased yet, do some research via Google search and watch some YouTube reviews. I find doing that very helpful, when I am looking at a new milsurp.

    If in doubt, shoot the round stamped on the rifle or 7.62Nato 147/149 Gr bullet loads. Not a gun you would probably shoot all day or take to SHTF. They are
    fun, kinda historic rifles. Use good, safe ammo and enjoy.
