    Tooele Rebuild

I was going through my safe a few weeks ago looking to thin out some of my collection and came across this one.
Its the rifle that started my love of 1960's rebuilds, a CMP "USGI" Field Grade, was not a return rifle but one that spent all its time in possession of the Army
Appears to have original 1943 barrel , pads are not chromed. MW-2 TW 3 1/2 . As I understand the Tooele rebuilt rifles were one of the least or the least number of rebuilt rifles.
I dont beleive it had been fired much after the rebuild as there was hardly any finish wear to receiver track or bolt lugs. I put a few hundred rds through it and put her away and has been stored ever since
They sure dont have Field Grades like this any more, those were the days

It's kind of nice to rediscover something so neat from time to time.

You are definitely doing something right if you find 1) money or 2) guns you've "forgotten" about!!!
