"New Op Rod" - Heavy Parkerizing and it Drags

I bought on op rod off of gun broker. Supposed to be like new. Paid $150 plus $15 for shipping. I received it today. The parkerizing is incredibly heavy, and it drags horribly on the last 1 1/2" of the underside of the barrel. And it's not really any better as to being firmly in the track, such that I'm concerned it may dismount easily.

Anyway, is the dragging on the underside of the barrel the last 1 1/2" due to its bends not being proper?

All op rods rub the underside of barrel some, it is a grease point. I know you have been concerned about op rod fit in track but Garand op rods do not fit super tight in the track. There is some movement and I suspect there has to be or they would bind. IMO , If its not dismounting you are worrying about nothing

As always, Bill is spot-on in his advice.
