I picked up a Tactacam Solo before turkey season. I wasn’t successful getting good video on my opening day hunt due to operator error, but I was able to avoid the same mistake and get good footage later in the season.
I had called these birds across a canal 2 days earlier only to have some hens pull them away. The morning after they went in the opposite direction, but a subordinate/silent gobbler snuck past so I had a good game plan for the next morning.
Using a jake decoy and gobbler/jake calls these guys came looking for a fight.
I started squeezing the trigger after the cluck and knew the turkey was moving but I didn’t realize just how much. It could have easily been a miss.
