    CMP 1911 Arrived

From what Im told its a early 1944 Remington Rand frame with a later RR slide. Flannery barrel that was allocated to Ithaca and RR in 1944-45
Doesnt appear to have been fired since last rebuild. No pitting under Parkerizing, service grade. Nothing real exciting but meets grade description and IMO is worth $1050 shipped

    Came with a nice case

    Looks good.

I only have another ~4500 pistols before my number will come up. Fingers crossed there will be a second allotment of pistols so I can begin to think about the grade I want to order.

If I had to do it over again I would have taken a chance on a Field Grade

It appears my RNG will be called within the next month or so.

I’m leaning really hard toward a FG. I’d like to get something not freshly parked and packed away.

I’m within 100 of my RNG now. I’ve almost 100% committed to a field grade. Seeing examples of the service grades posted on the CMP forum it seems the heavily parked and packed away examples are the norm. I’d prefer a little more “character”. My uncle will be up in another hundred or two and my cousin will be pulled ~15k.

I have an old DCM 1911 and it looks nothing like the cmp service grades. Park is dark and smooth without the roll stamps almost obliterated. I would do the field grade option also.
