I am saving up for a mini-g. I just have to decide if I want 8 rounds, or 20, and spend several hundred more $. I plan on buying a complete rifle from him, and not converting one of mine. What do y'all think?

You will have more rapid fire shots at feral hogs if you go the 20 round route.
I hunted this year with a "G" enbloc fed,it's great.
I also used a AR 15 platform .450 thumper with the 30 mag (10 in .450) and it seems to get in the way.
I put the original 5 rd mag in (much shorter, very little hanging out.) that was okay.
I know this may not have any bearing on your decision.
You can always put in a shorter mag.
If I could swing it,I would go with converting to mag fed.
Lots of options their.
Easier scope mounting too.

Hog hunting is what this gun would be used for. We sometimes get into goups of 10-20 hogs, and more ammo is always a good thing. thanks for helping me spend more money guys.
"The advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation ... forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of." -- James Madison (1788)
I don't think the mag will be a problem. If you have ever hunted hogs in Texas, you know the more ammo you have, the better off you are. They are kinda like zombies, just harder to kill off.
Are you going with the 30.06 or the .308 version ?
