    Working with My 1917

I've been working with My 1917 this week because last Time I took it out I could only hit an 8 1/2"X11" sheet of paper 2 out of 5 shots @ 25 YARDS !!!!The outside of the Rifle looks great, and it has strong Rifling looking from the breech, but the Muzzle looks like it should be on the Titanic! There must have been about 8million Blanks fired thru it without one cleaning,so the rifling near muzzle blends in(although M2 ball round sticks out quite far).I cleaned up the muzzle crown today, and WOW,what a difference!

I had several rounds of varying bullet, and weight so I tried them.It consistently shoots left, and I had several Keyholes, but it was on the paper, and actually grouped...yeah,crappy groups, but still a group. Here are the targets...
first was with 9 rnds of 150gr Hornady spire point BT..

the next was 8 rnds of 150gr Hornady FMJ BT,note the total separation that Keyholed..That was 1 rnd!!!
    Photobucket

These were 10 rnds of 125 grn Sierra SP,note the swirling powder burns, and 1 keyhole..
    Photobucket

and last were a 6 rnds of 190grn Sierra HP,BT

You would expect it to keyhole with the heavier rounds and not the lighter? Go figure.
When dealing with liberals, always attribute to malice what would ordinarily be attributed to incompetence.

    It certainly seems that way!

Could it also be previous rounds have deposited copper in the pits/smoothing out the bullet's travel?

Last time I shot mine I got kicked in the mouth from poor position...
