Just saw the promo for tonight's American Guns. They barter for an M1 used during D-Day. I'll record and view later.
I am curious as to the M1's provenance.

Nice placement of the thumb over the SN.
!
He bought into the story. There was no provenance with the rifle, just his word that his (great uncle?) was in the Navy and brought it back. It had some seawater damage/pitting and the parts looked to be correct so he gave the guy something like $15-$1700 for it. It had some cycling issues (probably the clip latch spring) and said he would fix it and sell in his shop for $3k. If that's the case I need to start telling everyone that all of my M1s were used on D-Day as well.

No titties in this episode!
!
I am less interested in that show after every episode...
That's nothing. I have Patton's M1. The seller told me so.
I have Hitler's personal pistol. A friend of a friend told me he got it from a guy who got it from his grandfather, who got it from a guy in Germany after the VE day by trading him for Goerings personal dagger, which he got from a buddy who got it from a buddy who captured Goering.

"No titties in this episode! "
No kidding.
Thats the primary reason I watch the show. Anyhow...If they are paying $1500 for butt ugly M1's, I need to slap a few together outta my spares and head out to Colorado.
Now, if Paige or Renee (maybe both???) would handle the sale themselves, I might be willing to let them go for $1200 each.
Some people are like slinkies.
They aren't good for much, but they do bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
