Is it possible to have a build that can change between M14 mags and BM59 mags with just a quick change of the spring guide and filler block ?

Mag catch is also a different length. The M14 mag rests shallower in the mag well than the 59 so any design that could do this would have to have the mag catches positively catch the mags and hold them both up and down. Those cuts are not in the mags.

I assume the M14 mag would be a bit looser due to the BM59 mag requiring more meat to be removed from the inside of the receiver?

I'm not saying it could not be done, heck you'd probably know better than me, but it would be pretty finicky. You would have to lose the BM front spacer and go with something a bit different. You may try something that had a built in shelf for the 14, old shelf gone in the receiver to make room for the 59, then you'd swap out the front catch for something like the Golden state front catch for the 59. Does that sound like it makes any sense Mike?
