Ran up to the NS on Saturday, talk about slim pickins.
Out of all the Field Grades I found 3 that looked that they would be decent shooters. I had the best of the three but ended up giving it to a newbie that needed help picking out a Garand. I didnt really "need " it anyways.
The Correct Grades were really, really nice but not willing to spend the $$$$ on another.
Picked up a nice mid 1944 Garand receiver and 1000rds of Hornady Match 223 instead
That is all

Armalite M15A4T ,24 Inch Stainless Steel lapped 1:8 twist barrel.
The Hornady 75gr Match ammo is a great deal at $12.00 per box.

Nice! I was just looking for comparables for my 20" Bushmaster upper w/ a 1:8 chrome-moly barrel. My first AR build for long range.

I should just suck it up and buy some and judge for myself. I will be trying it out this fall.

Like I said before CMP's price on it is a killer deal, everyone else get around $17.00 a box
What scope you have? I need to update mine.

I'll be heading up there on Thursday. Looking for a Winnie, somehting I can buy as trade-bait for an o3a3 and a stripped receiver (or whole rack grade rifle) with a SN less than 750k.

Heres the receiver I picked up. Most of them had some pitting, this one was fine

I briefly looked at them but didnt see anything that was worth the price . All pretty rough Springchesters

My scope is an old Baush & Lomb Balvar 12-32x40 with a plain jane crosshair. Bought this ~20 years ago for my M1A.
