Now that suppressors are legal in MI, it would be kinda cool to see a suppressed mini G. What do you guys think?

Is it do-able with the Garand gas system, I have often thought a mini G with a suppresor would be hard to pass up.

Doable? Darn tootin. There would have to be a threaded muzzle with an adapter to the can but yes.

what about a direct connect, I think smith enterprise might make one... it would remove the need for threading the muzzle.

Tim, couldn't you weld the treaded portion of a gas lock onto the bottom of the can and screw it on just like a smith muzzle brake? Maybe I've over simplified it, I'd be willing to try one on one of my G's.

Why not just cut a G barrel 1/2 inch longer and thread the end of the barrel?

Makes sense to me. What am I missing?

With anything other than the muzzle threaded concentric with the bore, I'd be worried about the possibility of baffle strikes. Could you assure that the suppressor would be perfectly concentric to the bore by any other mounting method?

I'd certainly feel best just cutting the barrel slightly longer and threading for the device.

yeah, so my direct connect idea is out, they don't make one. Timmy, basically a direct connect is a flash hider that is threaded (interrupted or a simple quarter turn twist) to accept a suppressor. Smith enterprise makes them for the m14, but not the m1. there are some other companies out there that do direct connects, but not for the m1, so you'd be back to square 1 and make it a 1 of piece. however, if you could market enough there might be a niche for them, more so if the suppressor is an off the shelf one...
