I do not like the idea of putting a scope on a Garand, but my eyes suck. Anybody have any feedback on this thing?

You and Canes7 are the best shots in this place. I'm friggin blind as a bat and getting worse. I'm seriously thinking about the laser deal but things just keep coming up. Getting old sucks.

Looks like you only buy the lens and the o-rings. You have to supply the NM sights.
How do you figure out what power lens you need ?

One BIG thing to remember when shooting iron sights is that you should concentrate on the front sight post. Too many time people tire their eyes out trying to focus on both the target and the post or back and forth.

If the front sight was farther away I wouldnt have any problems:)

You guys with real bad vision (I wear contacts) may want to look into Shootingsight products or Bob Jones lenses. Both of those guys make lens inserts for rear aperature sights and both also know a bit about optometry.

THANK YOU!!!
That is my exact problem. I work on engineering drawings and spreadsheets all day.
I can spot a fly crawling on the wall across our assembly floor, but I can't read a damn printout on my desk without my trusty 1.25 reading specs. I'm anxious for them to come out with replacement eyeballs! I want 4x zoom and IR capability at the very least. X-ray would also come in handy from time to time. :)

There is an article here in the ShootingSports USA online mag about this problem.
