no. according to milsurp collector, fagtripper, and aimspit you will destroy the value to collectors and burn in the pit of hell for eternity.

LOL. I saw that thread.
You damn well better be considering the delicate sensitivities of any and all future owners of YOUR current property before you do anything.

believe it or not, hairspray will remove ball-point pen ink from fabric. My wife showed me this trick several years ago. It really works. spray the hell out of the spot with the hair spray and blot it with a clean cloth. Repeat as necessary until it's all gone.

To late Sean,
I have already washed the original sweat and dirt out of them . Once they are dry I'm trying the hairspray trick:)

Ah....that would appear be Greek 'history' that has been applied to that sling. No foul then.
Since it isn't genuine U.S. 'history', aquired while in U.S. service at Anzio, Normandy or Iwo Jima, no collector will want it. :p

Kinda like all the Greek rifles that got restored when they came back in.

how could you, you raper of american history?!?! Have you no shame? do you even realize what you've done? How could you treat one of our few remaining national treasures this way? By washing that sling, you just spit in the face of every man that ever fought for freedom in this country.

Orlando, Inquiring minds want to know--did the hair spray trick work? I'll let the Mrs know one way or t'other. Yes All, I do still have a Mrs--at least for the time being. She's given me 3 months to get my shit together and then re-evaluate whether she wants out or not. I don't have a warm, fuzzy feeling about it but I'm gonna' give it 110%. You'd think after 25 years we could work things out.

I've used "Greased Lightning" on various webgear stains. It will do the trick but will lighten the color of the sling. Not sure if it takes the dye out or what but that silly, historical greek writing will be GONE.

I read somewhere peanut butter will remove ink stains.
If not,put some jelly on it too and lick it off,or have your girl friend do it.
