An older friend of mine use to go to gun shows alot in the 70's and 80's. He always bought little things from time to time.Just to be buying things. He knows im into m1's.So today he gave a cleaning rod case (canvas). The writing on it is M.R.T April 1963. (front)

On the back it says CASE,Cleaning ROD,M1 5506573.

Any INFo would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!! Peace toolman:D (Any ideas on a manufacture anyone.)

There was a big article on cleaning kits in a GCA journal about the same time the CMP rekeased them for sale.

You could check with Bill Ricca. He knows the codes for the different manufacturers.
