Heres pics of the HRA that I posted a range report on earlier
I bought the barreled receiver from a guy on the CMP forum. Unfortunatly its been refinished black and was alittle dissapointed at first.
I collected black finish HRA parts here and there until I had everything to assemble her.
Also found a correct 3/8 DOD HRA stock I had forgotten I had (dont ya just hate that when it happens?)
She turned out pretty good
I could not not matter what get the HRA trigger guard closed. Never had that problem with a USGI stock before. I really didnt want to alter the stock any if I could help it so I removed the HRA trigger guard and replaced it with a worn SA guard for now. If it doesnt loosen up with use I may need to do alittle fitting so I can use the HRA guard

You could always put it in a light colored birch stock. Personally, I like the black on birch look.

If you want to part with that HRA trigger guard I'd like first rights-of-refusal on it.

Bill,
HRA and IHC both have punch marks in the ends of the lugs. The HRA's usually show signs of the brazing material running from the oven-heating. IHC's are cleaner. That one does kinda' look more like an IHC. I've got a black guard with the punch marks in it. Wanna' trade?

I thought the HRA's had ridges that ran along the trigger guard. I'll post a pic when I get a chance
I tried so many differnt gaurds trying to get one that would close I forget which one was on it in the picture

I can't figure out which trigger guard is correct for the HRA either. I saw that about the ridge in Babcock's book, also about the "dimple" and braze marks. It just confused me more. :(

You could look at mine, that might at least give you an idea. The CMP says my metal is all "correct"...

Do you have a pic of yours on here someplace?

I could pull my son's "correct" out of the gun cabinet, but he'd probably get upset if I got fingerprints on it.

Hey KK,
Pull it and photo it for us all. Just tell your son you're doing it for everyone's education. I've got both, an HRA and a Tractor so I need one of each. I've got one already but not sure which rifle it would be proper on.

I'll do it later today, after I've sanitized the "clean room", donned my white Tyvek suit, and put on the hair net and white gloves. :)
