Cool article and the rest of the magazine is very interesting too. I doubt I'd want to trust my life to either of the bomb shelters shown in the other articles. It is very interesting to see how the U.S. was preparing for entering the War.

Ah yes, the old EM2. Enfield dusted off that design in the 80's and morphed it into the SA80/L85 series.

This sort of reminds of the rifles the Aussie's carry downrange. Except the Australian one has a stock that reminds me of a competitive target rifle and not a military rifle. Anyway, interesting finds here, thanks for the history!

The Aussies currently carry the F88 built by ADI.
It is a domesticly made, licensed copy of the late 80's version of the Austrian made Steyr AUG. It doesn't have all the sexy M1913 rails and bolt on accesories that the current Steyr versions does, but ADI is starting to field the newer modular version now. It's going to end up just as ugly as the L85 did when the smooth plastic furniture was replaced by big, clunky rail units.
