If anyone would like me to pick up (and ship) some M14 goodies from Fred's I will be making a run tomorrow or next Tues.
I will be picking up the stock metal to complete the stocks I picked up at the last gun show. Given the possible problems others have had I figure this is the best option if you need something.
I reserve the right to decline to pick stuff up if you are not a regular poster on this board.
Let me know if I can do some shopping for you!

I'm in.... did you contact Fred first to let him know you are coming? Last I looked at their site, years ago, it said "No walk in's".
I'd like one or two of the big red birch stocks..

I emailed and asked if I could pick up a purchase and he said yes, just needed a day or two notice.
I'll call tomorrow and make the order for pickup on Tues.
Dan, give me a shout with the item number so I get the right things for you.

I'll take a look at the site. I'll probably go for a 6 or 12 pack!

does anyone have a picture of the big red birch stocks? I have 2 never been issued or finished USGI stocks. They are inleted for a rear lug reciever, and are very big. They are birch. Just wondering if they are the same as the big red birch Fred is selling?

I would be interested in an order of those large ribs Fred would buy each week.

From what I gather there isn't a show room. All I am doing is placing an order and picking it up from the warehouse. If you inquire about the E2 stocks and he has them I can pick one up for you if the price is right. When I emailed Fred he was quick to respond if you can't catch him via phone.
I don't know enough about the stocks to describe the big red birch variety, but I am certain M14 receivers (issued) were only front lugged like the Garand. If I guessed I'd say yours that have the rear lug cutout were modified by a military shooting team or civilian.
I'll see about the bronto-burgers and ribs though!

The Big Red stocks are normal birch M14 stocks (not inletted) just oversized. Atleast thats the way I aways described them

These came from a military shooting team, that no longer uses the M14. They may have just bought civilian stocks, but they have the cut out for the full auto switch, and a part number on them.

I've purchased from Fred in the past as well as last week. Many on the CMP forum have criticized him for being slow. While he isn’t as fast as Shuff, I have found his deliveries to be very timely.
It would be nice to see a few pics of his operation if that is possible.

I have two E2s purchased from Freds years ago. One walnut, one birch w/all hardware. Interested?
Also have an original M1A SA walnut folder, all hardware, pristine (minor dent where when folded touches wood),
and two Nigerian M1 Pistol Grip w/no metal...

How did the trip to Freds go ? I am curious about what lay in the bowels of Freds warehouse?

I don't think I have ever worked so hard to give someone money before... I thought this was going to be easy!

There is no reports of it ever being easy to shop with Fred's. None.

I know... that is why I thought (foolishly) that visiting in person would work in my favor! I'll give you a call when I finally get word someone will be there when I have time to go.

I had some good dealings with Jack many years ago, before he started getting all the bad press.
I had maybee 3 orders and all went without a hiccup, but we are talking 8 years ago!

Just back from Fred's. The guys certainly has some inventory!
I saw several stacks of E2 stocks. Prices range from $300-500 dependong on what condition and type of wood.

$300 was the least expensive E2 ?
Thanks for the update.

That's the price he told me. I can't remember exactly which type of wood, but the stock would need to be refinished. The price I remember specifically was for an excellent walnut and that was the $500 figure.
