Well it seems the M1 bug has been killed. I have been selling off rifles for the last year and buying a few things I have wanted . i hardly get to shoot center fire anymore, shoot rim fire with my Dad twice a month , and that pretty much takes up my time at the range. I was so consumed with the gun thing that I spent way to much time in the gun room cleaning reading and playing with them . Anyway I bought a project boat tonight that will keep me busy for some time and I am looking forward to getting busy. I have an extra 04 Mercury 2.5 that will go nicely on this 22 Baja . I figure another 6 to 8 rifles will head out to fund this one.

Q: What are the two happiest days of a boat owner's life?
A: The day he buys the boat and the day he sells it. ;)

My boat is great at storing aluminum cans...I would much rather have the Rifles ;)

I must say I wouldn't sell any rifles to buy a boat, but I already have one. Enjoy your time on the water!

And a PROJECT boat to boot!
6 or 8 rifles? Naw Man!
You'll spend THAT much just fixing what the previous owner screwed up!
You are SO doomed Checky!
ETA You fresh water guys have no clue how rough salt water is on EVERYTHING! Buying a used saltwater boat is always a crap shoot!

I'd love to use mine in fresh water... between the duck hunting at the coast and fossil diving in brackish water I can't get a break.

I purchased my Checkmate in 92 its a 83, and refurbished it top to bottom. Then went through it again in 01. The 01 rebuild was pretty intense and going for speed and topped out at 80 on a gps using a 28 pitch chopper prop . I closed the bow and strengthened the transom. Ten years later the boat is still solid as can be and never gives any trouble . I guess I am getting bored with it so I am starting on the Baja, I have not even taken delivery yet but should have it in a few weeks. I picked up another 2.5 merc that is like new and have been waiting for the right boat to use it on. The Baja has a 350 IO in it now but thats getting changed to the outboard.
