Upon close inspection of my recent HRA FG, I have noticed several items which may need correction in order for safe and reliable functioning. One of the things I have noticed is that the tip of the firing pin has some small chips around the edge which extend close to the tip. I am concerned about pierced primers, is this a valid concern?

Yes, change it
I had a AR-15 that was piercing primers last year. Pin had a very small chip, replaced it and as is well

Have you fired it? If so, are the primers looking "normal"?

Haven't fired it yet - just took it all apart and cleaned/inspected it. 5.5mil (non-"soapy") receiver, HRA barrel and correct op rod, maybe gas cylinder too. Finish is very worn but no rust or pitting, stock is very rough. IHC/W elevation drum is cracked but works. Needs a recrown and repark in a lovely shade of MEDIUM gray...

Maybe I should contact CMP and kick and whine like the rest because the rifle is not new.

BTW Orlando, your stock cleaning method works great, only I used "Super Clean" instead of "Purple Power".
