The hammer in my HRA M1 is stamped HRA C5546008. It reads "right" from the pin hole to the outside rather than from the outside toward the pin hole. Is this an M1 or M14 hammer? If it's an M14 hammer, any one got an M1 hammer they want to trade for?
Jon
My HRA "correct grade" reads "right" from the pin. 2 of the 3 of my other HRA hammers are similar. I never thought the other hammer could be from a M14

Thanks jak. M14 hammers and safetys are interchangeable.

You have a correct HRA garand hammer, whether or not its correct for your serial number I can't say. The C prefix hammer is early HRA, 4.6 and early 4.7 range. If you need the "no prefix" hammer (5 mil range) I have one I can trade you.

Hi Dave,
It's a late 5.62. Sure I'll trade. Thanks. PM sent.

I have an HRA hammer that reads 5546008 HR AC left to right from the pin hole. I can't find a reference for it. Anyone know if it's M1 or M14 and the serial number range?

KK yours is M14.
Thanks, Mike, it's up for sale on Ebay now. The current bid is higher than what I paid for it too. :)

"M14" parts sometimes bring more $ than the same Garand part .
Crazy isn't it?
