Action loose in stock

The field grade that I got recently from the CMP shifts forward and back slightly in its stock. I notice that the lock up is not tight either. Would shimming the trigger guard to bottom of stock with refrigerator magnets be the thing to try first?

How worn are the locking lugs on the trigger guard ?

Nothing short of bedding will help the stock. Shimming the TG will help lockup bt wont help the fore and aft movement. Rifle will move in action under recoil and affect accuracy

Trigger lugs are very good.
JCG match is not an issue as my shooting skills are pretty lame. Got a ways to go before I ever try that.
Going to try the magnets.
How hard is it to bed a stock?
