Some of the BD44's (200) were imported a couple of years back. They listed for nearly 4K and had to do the '10 evil parts' dance to be import legal. Nearly half of those seem to have some kind of problem with the US made FC parts. Mags were also stupid expensive and suffered some function issues as well. I was hell bent to get one for reenacting and then came to my senses. Marstar up in Canada still sells them, but we can't buy them here. HOWEVER...the .22 version has passed all the importation hoops and will be on the shelves in the U.S. around June. I will be owning one!!

Shriv,
There is a collector where I live who owns an STG 45. I saw him shoot it at the range one day.

One of the guys that I do German reenacting with has a real one. He's a doctor and can afford all the cool toys. I've lost all interest in Class 3 stuff, and just concentrate on semi-auto firearms. No hassles when I want to travel to out of state events!

This same guy has an STG 44 and for a long time he had to make his own brass, but now I guess somebody makes it. I saw some pictures taken in Iraq (I think it was Iraq) several years ago and a guy was holding an STG.
