Took about 2 hours. This is my first M14/M1a build. I'm not used to all those flippin' roll pins! WTF? Anyway, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I started with one of the nearly new HRA USGI M14 barrels from Ohio Ordnance Works ($215) delivered, then a CMP M14 A kit ($623) delivered, then I snagged a USGI SA bolt from GunBroker ($180) delivered and lastly I bought a receiver from Fulton Armory w/a spring and pin kit ($574) + $20 for the transfer fee.

Total = $1612. A bit more than what a SA Inc. rifle would cost but this has all USGI parts, except for the receiver.

I chuck up the pins in my cordless drill to aid in installation when possible. A set of roll pin punches are also your friend .
Looks good !

No problem! It was fun offhanding shots at the 200 yard gong and passing the rifle around like it was some bikers ole lady.
