View Full Version : Awesome park job Tim!
Picked up my actions today at the post office and all I can say is WOW! Are these the same ones I sent you? Awesome job Tim, no more greek black! I can't wait to get them back together and into wood (which I have'nt even started on yet!). I'll post pics when I do but it may be a bit. Aside from 4 garand projects spread out on the bench I also have two 1903's going, one Mas36, one Delta Elite 10mm build, and an old Marlin lever gun. And that does'nt include the dozen or so in the safe that still need cleaning. Just not enough time in a day!
Thanks again Tim. I'll try and get the next one sent out ASAP.

.....or it never happened...
:)
Guys, read my post! :D
I plan to EVENTUALLY get pics posted but I have yet to get to working the stock sets for either one of these actions. I need to clean them up and match up some handguards etc. Been working a ton of OT and weekends, not to mention a dozen other gun projects all going at the same time. Then there is the antique cars I work on for myself and my father. Just not enough time in a day anymore. Quick cruise of the websites and email and I'm off to the basement once again!

You big tease!
Ok, my second attempt to post pics. Damn computer issues, keeps shutting down for no reason.
This is one of the two projects I sent to Tim. This was all the metal except the barrel which was a decent original finish so I left that as is.
I had been selling off most of my parts the past few years but still had a nice 9-43 barrel, a GAW stock set, uncut oprod etc. I ended up seeing this receiver for sale on CMP, realized it was a 9-43 which was the same as the barrel I was going to sell, so instead I made the deal and the rest is history. I originally got it to build for my son for Christmas last year but I never got it done in time. Then it took a back seat for awhile, but now its done. Problem now is I think I'm keeping it for myself! I sent it to Tim because the receiver and bolt were light gray, sight was dark, oprod black etc. Now its a nice dark park. It was exactly one year ago I started this project, April 2011. A few pics below, many more at the photobucket link.

Thank you. :)
This 1.9 SA is manganese. Zinc park is a lighter gray color.

Is it actually that color or does the picture make it look lighter?
Tim's manganese was always a dark charcoal or black.
Maybe he has changed colors?
I hope so as I like it!

Harsh lighting makes it look a little lighter than it is, but its far from black.
