I get home from work in a few weeks and am thinking on sending out some of my new CMP purchases to Tim to "de-Greek" them. I got an RG M1C that has a very worn finish on it and was wondering what you all think I should do. Should I leave it as is, or should I re-park it? Do you think it will destroy the value if I repark? This is my first collectable Garand and I dont want to destroy it. Even though it is a RG for some reason it still has a MW of .75 and overall is in nice shape. I am on the fence and dont know what to do.

If its original finish, I would leave it as is but thats just my opinion. Its your rifle so if you want to get it reparked Tim is the guy to go to

I agree with Orlando. There are some rifles that should just be left alone.
Your call.

Leave it. It's a beautiful rifle as is.

In case you need another opinion, mine is the same as everyone else. I don't see anything wrong with the finish. That being said it's yours. If you want a brand new park job... send it!

Remember the number one rule of collecting--don't do something that can't be undone.
Just my humble opinion.

Thanks for the input guys, I decided not to park it. I am going to send out a 6 digit Springfield that looks like it was hit with a rattle can of spraypaint, a WRA field grade and a HRA field grade. The HRA actually has a MW of 0 and looks mint with 100% HRA parts, how this was a FG I dont know. But the HRA looks blued and splochy, so that is going to change in a few weeks when I get home from work. When I get home I will be sure to post some before and after pics.

Thanks for your input
Eric
