Gents,
I am seeking some assistance obtaining parts for my Rem 513T.
Given the fact I have a non-cutdown stock it is not quite, what I would call, comfortable to shoot. I have to crane my neck at an odd angle for proper sight alignment with the Redfield 75 rear and original ramp front sight.
The barrel does not have a dovetail under the front sight so I need a dovetail block (IIRC screw spacing is 1.15 or by my handy ruler 1-1/8" apart). Preferably the block needs to be as low as possible. I know Redfield made a block specifically for ithe 513 as did Lyman.
I have contacted all the usual suspects and none have what I'm after. Outback can make me one for $35+, Steve Earle can make one for $25 but it is a little higher than I think will be easy to use with the Redfield rear.
The Lyman base is advertised as a .167 heighht and the Redfield is the "A" which I believe is .175.
If you are headed to a decent gun show and happen to find someone with either of these items could you give me a heads up? I love shooting the 513 but not the pain in my neck afterward!
