I have a question. In REAL LIFE did the actor that played Billy Jack have any actual martial arts competition fighting???

His on screen "stuff" looks a lot like Savate[sp], ie, "French foot fighting".

Laughlin did study martial arts, but naturally he wasn't as good as "Billy Jack". He said the face kick was done by a martial arts expert. Laughlin said he could have done it himself but wasn't good enough to miss really kicking Posner in the face.
