Happy Fourth Everyone! mine's happy, but sad....

This is the day my dad passed away. It's been 12 years now.

His brother Tommy, was born on the fourth of July, he was killed at Pearl Harbor.
He was on the USS Nevada. They think the first torpedo hit his post and was killed instantly.
They never found his body. My Grandmother always held on to the hope that he was still alive.
I have several of their letters conversing back and forth.

Dad would go out every morning of the Fourth of July and fire a 45 round over Tommy's grave in tribute.

Just wanted to share...

Danny, my Dad died on my birthday, and my Son was buried on his. When things like that happen on special days it just makes you think about them even more. And that is good.

God bless gentlemen. My mother passed away July 17th, 9 yrs ago. Dad still gets gets all depressed every July. Just got back from helping him work on one of his old cars. It keeps him occupied and his mind busy but its still a tough month to get through.

My Dad was only 67, mom was 62. I'm too young not to have them around. I'm just selfish.
