16.4# gag grouper. Notice the GoPro helmet cam... if I can figure out how to reduce the 1080 HD file size I'll put up some video from this summer.

Very Nice! Did You happen to see the vid of the guy who jumped in the water to film a Great White ? He was spear fishing off Fl coast and saw the Great White, he got back int the water to vid because he said no one would believe him . LOL. the news said only one Great White a year is spotted of our coast .
I dive but never have been much on fishing, i will agree much bigger balls spear fishing , great looking fish.

Thanks guys. I really love spearfishing!

The news was waaaaay off. The average beach goer would never get in the water if they knew the truth...

ETA I saw a fish this past Thursday that I was too scared to shoot. It was a cubera snapper that had to be in the 75# range and could have easily gone higher.

We go out of Beaufort inlet. We're offshore of NC. Our farthest "normal day" destination is the Naeco (WW2 torpedo victim). Hurricanes have done a number on the wrecks recently but max depth in it is about 138'.

That cubera was lost. I've only ever seen a handful of those where we take divers.

Unfortunately the summer is drawing to a close and I have to go back to my real job this Wednesday.
