When it comes to computers or for B "puters" I have three thumbs and would be better off with a pen and paper. Recently I upgraded our DSL wireless home network from a modem-router to a gateway n system by Actiontec. I also discovered Seagate FreeAgent® GoFlex 2 TB wireless backup hard drive. It sets on the network and automatically backs up the computers on the system every 30 minutes. You can also run a network printer off of it or another storage device. Now comes the biggest surprise for me 129 dollars which is cheap insurance if you've ever lost a hard drive with all you documents, photos, music and porn.

You can purchase them from the Seagate website or Best Buy and I sure there are other vendors.

Funny you mention back ups. I just had one of the laptops crash and burn. My wifes office computer wizzard got it back up and running. I purchased the same Seagate with 2TB. It came with a disk (replica) to help if the computer crashes.
I got mine from Costco for 99 bucks after the manufactures rebate.

THAT would be tragic! All that porn wiped out? I shudder at the thought.

Just bought a MacBook Pro - I am going over to the dark side, slowly moving away from Windows. I am tired of my PC but I forgot how much work it is to transfer everything over to a new machine. Good thing that my 15 year old is a Mac whiz.

We bought our Mac Book Pro 15, 8GB the week the new ones came out Feb I thing. We bought it for the wife and I've stolen it! I love this thing. We're going to by one of the new iMac 27 inches for the wife next week. I signed up for the 1 to 1 and go one day a week, I've taken all kinds of courses. Don't miss the PC's at all.

That's good to know; since I brought it home today and asked my son to set it up I have not been able to get my hands on the thing - both of my kids are now using it. My son has all but abandoned his desktop Mac (now he can Facebook all over the house). Guess that I might have to buy another one when I have the money!

We're either lucky or unlucky enough to have an Apple store close by which means you can get there quickly to buy new toys. The wife's birthday was Friday so while I was at Apple for a 1 to 1 training session I bought her a 32GB iPod Touch. Wow an iPod with Wifi and a keyboard. It has better movies and videos than our TV. The technology for iPods has came along way since the Sony Walkman! Boyz and their toys.

I agree that the ipods are great. As to the Sony Walkman, that started it all.
