To Brake or not to Brake

Getting ready to order the Mini-G. Does the Smith brake make that much of a difference in recoil and/or flash. I'm sure it makes it deafening to everyone next to you.

It's pretty loud but it sure takes the muzzle rise out & does lessen the recoil some.

It noticeably reduces recoil and muzzle flash. However, its loud (especially under a covered shooting station) and the escaping muzzle gasses will blow stuff off the shooting bench.

When I shoot mine, it's only annoying to other people but not me. ;)

At our last 3gun match a couple weeks ago, I ran one stage with my Mag Mini-G with the Smith Brake. The stage had a lot of barriers to shoot through and around. It was a lot of fun, but noticed afterwards that my brake blew apart a couple of the obstacles. . . my mini-g got quite a bit of attention from other shooters and match director :-).

Mine doesn't have a brake (I cut down a demilled Beretta tricomp) and none of my shooting buddies want me next to them as it is. Putting a brake on can't make it that much worse for someone next to you and can only make it better for you to shoot. And, as already noted, the deer will never notice!
