I like the wood, never been a fan of someone's old used up piece of yuck dragged around by some guy who found it a bit too heavy.

me either. i'd prefer new wood unless dealing with an all original, collector level rifle. The repro stock metal bums me out, but that's not too difficult to fix. The color of the repro stuff on CMP stocks is just too light

I know my new girl friend likes my wood. Sorry--couldn't resist.

So I think I will put a NM op rod and sights on this one. I know nothing about the NM rifles as they are out of my price range, LOL. Do any of you have info on where to get sights or any other advice. Thanks in advance I need help from the pros! Tom

You dont see USGI NM Rear sights for sale that often, if you do jump on them. I sold my non hooded set cheap $225 shipped, they are usually closer to $300
There are commercial copies made, some are better than others. As I remember the copies go for around $250.

Roadking , did I see you sold yoour 6 mil? how about the readings on mine LOL. Its apart just sitting on the bench , not sure what to do with it. My first one is a beauty but the second is so so, I may leave the first as received and fix the other up still not sure. Looking for sights though.
